The year is 2112, and the world has changed…
Jake Landry is interested in having some fun. He’s in Las Vegas, newly single and just off his most recent tour of duty. In Vegas he has met up with his old friend Nicola Goodheart, a scientist and inventor who studies portals, other worlds, and strange beings. Jake has also met and become enamored with Alexander, a gorgeous man with violet eyes. Jake goes with Nic on a portal finding mission, and they all end up in Alexander’s alien world.
Recruiter Alexander Bloodworth is interested in Jake for himself and in Nicola for placement in a pleasure house on his home planet of Aurath. When he hears word one of his people’s enemies are after Nicola and Jake, he goes to save them both, even at the peril of losing his job.
Will they risk their hopes and dreams—Alexander and Jake for a chance at love and Nicola for her career—or will they falter and lose everything anyway?

Just because he disliked a situation didn’t mean his temper could be unleashed on a whim. Other people really didn’t need to know his business.
Still, it’d be nice to release some pent-up energy. He mentally shook his head. No. I really shouldn’t create a scene. Plus, if he went over there to say or do something, he’d be a hypocrite. He’d had a few rebound flings himself and had moved on. All his mental blustering was just a knee-jerk reaction.
“You would be correct,” a smooth, deep voice stated near him.
Startled out of his thoughts about giving the men across the way some black eyes, Jake turned to the man sitting beside him. He stared into a pair of beautiful deep violet eyes. “So mesmerizing.”
The handsome man dressed in a tailor made black suit, black dress shirt and white silk tie matching his hat chuckled.
Jake blinked. “I mean excuse me? Right about what?”
“Whatever it was you were thinking about and made a decision on.” The man looked at Jake’s drink. “Let me pay for the next round.” The man hailed the bartender. “Two more of what he was having.” He pulled out a hundred dollar coin from the pouch hidden within his jacket and placed it on the bar. “It is—how you say in your language? On my dime, sugar?”
Good looking and suave. Jake couldn’t place the stranger’s slight accent, but thought it added to his charm. Who was this man who pulled out C chinks, who had the intriguing eyes, and almost tanned skin as if he’d literally been lightly kissed by the sun? Judging from how the stranger towered over him while sitting on the stool, he estimated the man to be six five to seven feet tall. Built, too, if the width of his shoulders happens to be any indication.
The man turned back to him. He put his fingers to the brim of his hat covering a head of long platinum blond hair for a brief moment. The band around the head covering was the same dark color as his unique eyes. “My name is Alexander.”
“Jake. Thanks for the drink.” He stuck out his hand. “Your accent is interesting. Where are you from?”
Alexander shook his hand. A gush of sexual hunger washed through Jake. The sensation surprised him. The feeling hadn’t been this strong when he’d met Shawn. What kind of robust pheromones radiated from Alexander to make the instant attraction hit so hard?
“I’m from all over. I must say it is nice to sit and talk with someone.” Alexander released his hand and propped his forearm on the edge of the bar. “Especially after the couple of days I have had. So your decision, think you will be able to stick to it?”
“Decision?” Jake cocked his head, thinking back to what might have been on his mind. His gaze traveled across the bar area to where his ex and the bear sat. Oh, right. Shawn. “Yeah, I’ll stick with it.” Especially if you keep me company, Gorgeous.
