Jack
stretched and rolled over in bed. Bright sunshine filled the bedroom, magnified
by the bright white snow covering everything outside the windows. As he looked
outside, a male skier swooshed by on the fresh powder.
On mornings like this, after a night like he’d just had, Jack
could appreciate the beauty and wonder of the mountains. But he’d still rather be
at the beach. And he couldn’t
wait to show Sandy his new hometown.
“Good morning.”
Sandy looked at him, propped up on her elbow, looking like
a snow angel in the white linen sheets.
Jack
leaned over and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. “Good
morning. Last night was amazing.”
Sandy’s cheeks flushed. “I
agree. So now what?”
“Breakfast?”
Jack knew her question meant more. He didn’t know exactly, but
he did know that somehow, someway, they needed to find a way to build this
relationship. “Aren’t you hungry, too?”
Sandy
playfully punched his arm. “That’s not what I was
