Escaping the big city…

For love under Icelandic skies

When surgeon Betty Jacinth’s heart is broken once again, she takes a job in Iceland for a change of scenery. She expects cold weather—but not the frosty welcome she receives from gorgeous but brooding Dr. Axel Sturlusson! Now father to his orphaned niece, Axel gradually thaws, and a flame ignites—but when Betty’s ex begs her to return, can she make the right choice for love?

Guest Post

An Interview with Dr. Betty Jacinth.

Betty comes into the room. She’s bubbly and happy. She’s also visibly pregnant.

Thanks for letting me interview you today! I have to say Axel wasn’t amiable as you are.

*Betty grins* He never is. Except when he’s around me. Of course, he was surly the first time we met. He complained about my boots and liked to swing me over his shoulder a few times. I wasn’t impressed.

I’ll bet. So, what is your full name?

Dr. Betty Jacinth. Well, Betty is short form for Bethia. My Dad was obsessed with 17th and 18th Century history and he chose Bethia. Thankfully no one calls me that.

Do you have a nickname and if so, who calls you this?

No, I don’t have a nickname. My Dad used to call me squirt. Axel just likes to call me beloved or darling, but not that often and you’re not going to tell him about Bethia either!

I promise I won’t! What is your occupation?

Trauma surgeon. Best job there is.

Did you enjoy school?

The learning part of it, but not the social aspect. I was a bit of an awkward butterfly. As opposed to a social butterfly.

Are you optimistic or pessimistic?

Optimist. You have to be when you’re a surgeon. You always have to hope for the best.

Favourite colour?

Blue.

Do you like to read?

I do and I love the Christmas Book Flood that Axel has introduced to me. I love that tradition. We, Axel, our niece Eira and I all curl up under wooly blankets with a fire and read. It’s divine.

Favourite book?

Ooh. That is a hard one. I do love my author, but I also am partial any good romance. My favourite Jane Austen is Persuasion.

Mine too. Imagine that! *winks* Introverted or Extroverted?

I was introverted, I might still be, but I definitely put myself out there more than Axel does.

Smells associated with childhood?

What an odd question. Ummm, wet leaves in the autumn and the smell of wood burning. I love Autumn.

Thanks for coming and talking to us, Betty!

*Betty smiles* You’re welcome. Any time. xo
