Book Review: Seven Night's in a Rogue's Bed by Anna Campbell

Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed (Sons of Sin, #1)Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed by Anna Campbell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 out of 5~Rounded up to 5

On very short list of auto-buy authors, Anna is at the top. I have made no secret of my fan-girl worship for her historical romances and the tortured heroes that live in her worlds.

In Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed, we are introduced to Jonas Merrick, a scarred man who makes a deal with a woman who lost to him at cards. One week in his bed. Instead of the woman, her younger sister arrives, to sacrifice herself in her sister's place.

AS with much of Anna's heroines, they have a secret and do not always behave in a logical way. And they nearly always hurt the hero. Most of these women are mercenary, as is the case with Sidonie Forsythe. She deeply believes her reasons are honorable, but they are not. It is a credit to Anna's storytelling ability that these heroines don't come across as unlikable. They are redeemable.

Jonas was wonderful. A complex, multi-layered man who feels things deeply, but hides it well. He is scarred, yet his bedroom is full of mirrors, as if to remind himself of his ugliness. I love that!
The love scenes are highly erotic and charged with deep emotion, which I love. I am anxious to read the rest in this series, it has a fine set up. The 'Sons of Sin', heroes with questionable births.

There are a lot of bumps in the road to the HEA, stubborn pride, lies and such. But the ending was satisfying and this book entertaining and very readable. Highly recommend~
